In the early days of legalization, many black market farms rushed to become compliant and sell legalized cannabis. The issue (at least in my case) was these farmers were isolated for decades and (again in my case) ran little cannabis kingdoms without much outside influence. This makes for excellent characters, but difficult collaborators. The photography for this project was part of a much larger branding project that inevitably ended up not materializing for many reasons, but I still enjoy the work nonetheless.
